Mambo Shoe Care
A little care keeps your Mambo shoes ready for the next dance night.
Different uppers. The same sole-care basics. These steps are for Mambo shoes with microfiber/suede soles. Wear them on clean, dry indoor dance floors and change shoes before heading outside.
-

Check the dry bottoms
Look for dirt, flattened patches or peeling edges. If damp, skip brushing and follow steps 4–5 first.
-

Brush the soft sole areas
Hold the shoe securely, keeping fingers out of the brush path. Use a suitable dance sole brush with short, light strokes. Stay on the microfiber/suede pads; avoid edges, stitching, smooth arches and uppers. Brush a heel pad only if it has the same soft sole material. Stop if fibers pull out heavily or an edge lifts.
-

Care for your shoe’s finish
- Smooth finishes: gently wipe surface dust with a soft, dry cloth.
- Metallic or printed finishes: dust lightly. Avoid scrubbing, abrasive cloths and polish unless Yami approves it for that finish.
- Velvet or textured finishes: gently lift dust with a very soft, dry cloth. Avoid hard rubbing or wet cleaning without guidance.
Never use the wire sole brush on the exterior. Check your pair’s material before using cleaners or leather conditioner.
-

Blot only if damp
Press a clean, dry towel against the damp area. Do not rub, soak or machine wash. Let the soles dry completely before brushing or wearing.
-

Let them air out
After dancing, loosen the laces and gently lift the tongues for airflow. Air dry at room temperature, away from heaters, hair dryers and direct sun.
-

Store when fully dry
Use a breathable shoe bag in a cool, dry place. Loosely fill toes with plain tissue to help keep their shape. Keep dirty travel shoes separate.
